About the event
What is Beach Handball?
Beach handball is much more than just a summer variation of the traditional indoor sport. It’s a dynamic game played on soft, warm sand under the open sky, accompanied by music and the cheers of an enthusiastic crowd. The sport blends technical finesse with acrobatic excellence, fast-paced attacks, and a touch of showmanship. Each team plays with four field players on the court.
A match consists of two halves, each lasting ten minutes. What makes it unique: each half is scored separately. If both teams win one half each, the winner is decided in an exciting shoot-out.
One of the defining features of beach handball is its scoring system: a standard goal is worth one point. However, spectacular goals—such as a Kempa trick, a 360-degree spin shot, or a goal scored by the goalkeeper—are worth two points. This encourages creativity and adds to the sport’s appeal.…
